What Same Day Delivery Actually Means

Same day means the flowers are made and delivered on the day you order, not pulled from a shelf. Every arrangement we send is built by hand that morning from stock we buy fresh at the Melbourne market several times a week.

It does not mean within the hour, and it does not mean a chosen time slot. Deliveries run across the day on a route, so an order placed at nine may arrive before or after one placed at eleven, depending on where each is going.

Why Cut Off Times Exist

A cut off is not an arbitrary rule. It is the point in the morning after which an arrangement cannot be built, checked, packed and slotted into a route that is already moving.

Every florist has one, and they differ because the model differs. A shop that dispatches by courier can accept orders later, because the courier absorbs the timing. A florist delivering with its own driver has to close earlier, because the run has to leave.

Our Cut Off: 12pm, Monday to Friday

Order before 12pm on a weekday and your flowers go out that day. After 12pm they go on the next available run.

We deliver Monday to Friday. We do not deliver on Saturdays or Sundays, so an order placed over the weekend goes out on Monday. You can still place the order at any hour, the website never closes, but the earliest delivery date will be the next weekday.

Being straight about this: several Melbourne florists take same day orders later than we do, and some deliver seven days. If you need flowers this afternoon and it is already past midday, one of them will serve you better today. What we offer instead is that the arrangement is made by hand here and delivered by our own driver, rather than passed to whichever shop is free or couriered in a box.

What Happens If You Miss the Cut Off

Nothing dramatic. The order is still accepted and paid for, and it simply moves to the next run. You have two options at the checkout:

  • Let it go on the next available day. An order placed at 3pm on Tuesday will be delivered Wednesday.
  • Choose a future date. If the occasion is Friday, set Friday. Booking ahead is the single most reliable way to make sure flowers land on the right day, and it costs nothing extra.

For anything that has a fixed date, an anniversary, a birthday, a funeral service, book it ahead rather than relying on same day. Same day is for the moments you did not plan.

How to Make Sure It Actually Arrives

Most failed deliveries are address problems, not flower problems. A few details at the checkout remove almost all of them.

Houses

A street number and a note about access is usually enough. If the property is behind a gate, on a long driveway or hard to spot from the road, say so.

Apartments and units

Include the unit number, the building name if it has one, and any intercom or buzzer code. If there is a concierge or parcel room, our driver will hand the flowers over there and let the recipient know.

Workplaces

Add the business name, the floor or suite, and a contact phone number. Business deliveries go during opening hours, so an address that closes at 3pm is worth flagging.

Hospitals, schools and aged care

Include the ward, room or department, and a contact name. Many of these sites will not accept a delivery without one, and some have their own rules about flowers, so it is worth a quick call to the site first.

Always add a mobile number

Not for us to call the recipient and ruin a surprise, but so there is a way to solve a problem in the moment instead of the flowers coming back on the van.

Occasionally a specific flower is not available at the market that morning. When that happens we substitute with something of equal or greater value in the same style and colour, rather than delaying the delivery. If a particular bloom is essential to you, say so in the order notes and we will contact you instead.
